Jail History and Structure

In 1978, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Mountain View. The justice center houses the Stone County county sheriff, Mountain View police department offices, and the Stone County Jail. The Stone County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Stone County Jail. Originally, the Stone County Jail could house approximately 1643 inmates.

Over the years, the Stone County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Stone County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
