Jail History and Structure

In 1979, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Denver. The justice center houses the Denver County county sheriff, Denver police department offices, and the Denver County Jail. The Denver County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Denver County Jail. Originally, the Denver County Jail could house approximately 2472 inmates.

Over the years, the Denver County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Denver County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
