Jail History and Structure

In 1981, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Ashford. The justice center houses the Windham County county sheriff, Ashford police department offices, and the Windham County Jail. The Windham County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Windham County Jail. Originally, the Windham County Jail could house approximately 2203 inmates.
