Jail History and Structure

In 1980, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Fort Pierce. The justice center houses the St. Lucie County county sheriff, Fort Pierce police department offices, and the St. Lucie County Jail. The St. Lucie County county sheriff is the general overseer of the St. Lucie County Jail. Originally, the St. Lucie County Jail could house approximately 2212 inmates.
