Jail History and Structure

In 1976, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Alma. The justice center houses the Bacon County county sheriff, Alma police department offices, and the Bacon County Jail. The Bacon County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Bacon County Jail. Originally, the Bacon County Jail could house approximately 1896 inmates.
