Jail History and Structure

In 1979, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Folkston. The justice center houses the Charlton County county sheriff, Folkston police department offices, and the Charlton County Jail. The Charlton County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Charlton County Jail. Originally, the Charlton County Jail could house approximately 1896 inmates.
