Jail History and Structure

In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Franklin. The justice center houses the Heard County county sheriff, Franklin police department offices, and the Heard County Jail. The Heard County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Heard County Jail. Originally, the Heard County Jail could house approximately 2455 inmates.

Over the years, the Heard County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Heard County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
