Jail History and Structure

In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Boise. The justice center houses the Ada County county sheriff, Boise police department offices, and the Ada County Jail. The Ada County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Ada County Jail. Originally, the Ada County Jail could house approximately 1777 inmates.

Over the years, the Ada County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Ada County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
