Jail History and Structure

In 1985, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Council. The justice center houses the Adams County county sheriff, Council police department offices, and the Adams County Jail. The Adams County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Adams County Jail. Originally, the Adams County Jail could house approximately 1613 inmates.
