Jail History and Structure
In 1982, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Davenport. The justice center houses the Scott County county sheriff, Davenport police department offices, and the Scott County Jail. The Scott County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Scott County Jail. Originally, the Scott County Jail could house approximately 2500 inmates.
Over the years, the Scott County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Scott County county.
