Jail History and Structure
In 1985, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown La Crosse. The justice center houses the Rush County county sheriff, La Crosse police department offices, and the Rush County Jail. The Rush County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Rush County Jail. Originally, the Rush County Jail could house approximately 2141 inmates.
