Jail History and Structure

In 1990, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Sandy Hook. The justice center houses the Elliott County county sheriff, Sandy Hook police department offices, and the Elliott County Jail. The Elliott County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Elliott County Jail. Originally, the Elliott County Jail could house approximately 1701 inmates.
