Jail History and Structure
In 1990, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Williamstown. The justice center houses the Grant County county sheriff, Williamstown police department offices, and the Grant County Detention Center. The Grant County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Grant County Detention Center. Originally, the Grant County Detention Center could house approximately 2450 inmates.
