Jail History and Structure
In 1980, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Grand Rapids. The justice center houses the Kent County county sheriff, Grand Rapids police department offices, and the Kent County Re-Entry Center. The Kent County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Kent County Re-Entry Center. Originally, the Kent County Re-Entry Center could house approximately 2256 inmates.

Juvenile Detention Center
