Jail History and Structure
In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Newberry. The justice center houses the Luce County county sheriff, Newberry police department offices, and the Luce County Jail. The Luce County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Luce County Jail. Originally, the Luce County Jail could house approximately 2206 inmates.
