Jail History and Structure

In 1990, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Saint Ignace. The justice center houses the Mackinac County county sheriff, Saint Ignace police department offices, and the Mackinac County Jail. The Mackinac County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Mackinac County Jail. Originally, the Mackinac County Jail could house approximately 2170 inmates.

Juvenile Detention Center
