Jail History and Structure
In 1987, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Elbow Lake. The justice center houses the Grant County county sheriff, Elbow Lake police department offices, and the Grant County Jail. The Grant County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Grant County Jail. Originally, the Grant County Jail could house approximately 2028 inmates.
Over the years, the Grant County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Grant County county.
Juvenile Detention Center
