Jail History and Structure
In 1985, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Gaylord. The justice center houses the Sibley County county sheriff, Gaylord police department offices, and the Sibley County Jail. The Sibley County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Sibley County Jail. Originally, the Sibley County Jail could house approximately 2443 inmates.
Over the years, the Sibley County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Sibley County county.
