Jail History and Structure
In 1979, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Benton. The justice center houses the Scott County county sheriff, Benton police department offices, and the Scott County Jail. The Scott County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Scott County Jail. Originally, the Scott County Jail could house approximately 1564 inmates.
