Jail History and Structure

In 1977, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Alliance. The justice center houses the Box Butte County county sheriff, Alliance police department offices, and the Box Butte County Jail. The Box Butte County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Box Butte County Jail. Originally, the Box Butte County Jail could house approximately 2430 inmates.
