Jail History and Structure

In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Grand Island. The justice center houses the Hall County county sheriff, Grand Island police department offices, and the Hall County Department of Corrections. The Hall County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Hall County Department of Corrections. Originally, the Hall County Department of Corrections could house approximately 1929 inmates.
