Jail History and Structure

In 1975, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Saint Clairsville. The justice center houses the Belmont County county sheriff, Saint Clairsville police department offices, and the Belmont County Jail. The Belmont County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Belmont County Jail. Originally, the Belmont County Jail could house approximately 1536 inmates.
