Jail History and Structure

In 1985, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Georgetown. The justice center houses the Brown County county sheriff, Georgetown police department offices, and the Brown County Detention Center. The Brown County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Brown County Detention Center. Originally, the Brown County Detention Center could house approximately 2398 inmates.
