Jail History and Structure

In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Chardon. The justice center houses the Geauga County county sheriff, Chardon police department offices, and the Geauga County Jail. The Geauga County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Geauga County Jail. Originally, the Geauga County Jail could house approximately 2388 inmates.
