Jail History and Structure
In 1989, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Cincinnati. The justice center houses the Hamilton County county sheriff, Cincinnati police department offices, and the Hamilton County Justice Center. The Hamilton County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Hamilton County Justice Center. Originally, the Hamilton County Justice Center could house approximately 1838 inmates.
Over the years, the Hamilton County Justice Center has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Hamilton County county.
Juvenile Detention Center
