Jail History and Structure

In 1976, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Norwalk. The justice center houses the Huron County county sheriff, Norwalk police department offices, and the Huron County Jail. The Huron County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Huron County Jail. Originally, the Huron County Jail could house approximately 1798 inmates.
