Jail History and Structure
In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Arapaho. The justice center houses the Custer County county sheriff, Arapaho police department offices, and the Custer County Jail. The Custer County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Custer County Jail. Originally, the Custer County Jail could house approximately 1690 inmates.
