Jail History and Structure

In 1987, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Moro. The justice center houses the Sherman County county sheriff, Moro police department offices, and the Sherman County Jail. The Sherman County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Sherman County Jail. Originally, the Sherman County Jail could house approximately 1680 inmates.

Over the years, the Sherman County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Sherman County county.
