Jail History and Structure

In 1988, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Williamsport. The justice center houses the Lycoming County county sheriff, Williamsport police department offices, and the Lycoming County Prison. The Lycoming County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Lycoming County Prison. Originally, the Lycoming County Prison could house approximately 1864 inmates.
