Jail History and Structure

In 1987, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown New Bloomfield. The justice center houses the Perry County county sheriff, New Bloomfield police department offices, and the Perry County Prison. The Perry County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Perry County Prison. Originally, the Perry County Prison could house approximately 2464 inmates.

Over the years, the Perry County Prison has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Perry County county.
