Jail History and Structure
In 1975, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Clarksville. The justice center houses the Montgomery County county sheriff, Clarksville police department offices, and the Montgomery County Workhouse. The Montgomery County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Montgomery County Workhouse. Originally, the Montgomery County Workhouse could house approximately 2126 inmates.
