Jail History and Structure

In 1985, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Hemphill. The justice center houses the Sabine County county sheriff, Hemphill police department offices, and the Sabine County Jail. The Sabine County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Sabine County Jail. Originally, the Sabine County Jail could house approximately 2464 inmates.

Over the years, the Sabine County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Sabine County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
