Jail History and Structure

In 1977, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Luray. The justice center houses the Page County county sheriff, Luray police department offices, and the Page County Jail. The Page County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Page County Jail. Originally, the Page County Jail could house approximately 1890 inmates.

Over the years, the Page County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Page County county.

Juvenile Detention Center

It is part and parcel of Page County Jail but deals with the detention and correction of offensive youths. The Page County Jail has a 126-bed capacity. Counselling, health assessments, recreation, education, and intervention services are provided to the youth held at the Page County Jail.
