Jail History and Structure

In 1977, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Chilton. The justice center houses the Calumet County county sheriff, Chilton police department offices, and the Calumet County Jail. The Calumet County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Calumet County Jail. Originally, the Calumet County Jail could house approximately 1835 inmates.

Over the years, the Calumet County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Calumet County county.
