Jail History and Structure

In 1982, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Mauston. The justice center houses the Juneau County county sheriff, Mauston police department offices, and the Juneau County Jail. The Juneau County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Juneau County Jail. Originally, the Juneau County Jail could house approximately 1570 inmates.

Over the years, the Juneau County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Juneau County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
