Jail History and Structure

In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Soldotna. The justice center houses the Kenai County county sheriff, Soldotna police department offices, and the Kenai County Jail. The Kenai County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Kenai County Jail. Originally, the Kenai County Jail could house approximately 1448 inmates.
