Jail History and Structure

In 1982, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Kodiak. The justice center houses the Kodiak County county sheriff, Kodiak police department offices, and the Kodiak County Jail. The Kodiak County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Kodiak County Jail. Originally, the Kodiak County Jail could house approximately 1822 inmates.

Over the years, the Kodiak County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Kodiak County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
