Jail History and Structure

In 1990, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Skagway. The justice center houses the Skagway County county sheriff, Skagway police department offices, and the Skagway County Jail. The Skagway County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Skagway County Jail. Originally, the Skagway County Jail could house approximately 2354 inmates.
