Jail History and Structure

In 1977, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Prescott. The justice center houses the Nevada County county sheriff, Prescott police department offices, and the Nevada County Jail. The Nevada County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Nevada County Jail. Originally, the Nevada County Jail could house approximately 1897 inmates.
