Jail History and Structure

In 1979, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Del Norte. The justice center houses the Grand County county sheriff, Del Norte police department offices, and the Grand County Jail & Detention Center. The Grand County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Grand County Jail & Detention Center. Originally, the Grand County Jail & Detention Center could house approximately 1406 inmates.
