Jail History and Structure

In 1984, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Lake Butler. The justice center houses the Union County county sheriff, Lake Butler police department offices, and the Union County Jail. The Union County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Union County Jail. Originally, the Union County Jail could house approximately 2237 inmates.
