Jail History and Structure

In 1982, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Milledgeville. The justice center houses the Baldwin County county sheriff, Milledgeville police department offices, and the Baldwin County Jail. The Baldwin County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Baldwin County Jail. Originally, the Baldwin County Jail could house approximately 2179 inmates.

Over the years, the Baldwin County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Baldwin County county.
