Jail History and Structure

In 1989, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Bluffton. The justice center houses the Wells County county sheriff, Bluffton police department offices, and the Wells County Jail. The Wells County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Wells County Jail. Originally, the Wells County Jail could house approximately 1965 inmates.
