Jail History and Structure

In 1990, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Mankato. The justice center houses the Jewell County county sheriff, Mankato police department offices, and the Jewell County Jail. The Jewell County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Jewell County Jail. Originally, the Jewell County Jail could house approximately 1869 inmates.
