Jail History and Structure

In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Leavenworth. The justice center houses the Leavenworth County county sheriff, Leavenworth police department offices, and the Leavenworth County Jail. The Leavenworth County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Leavenworth County Jail. Originally, the Leavenworth County Jail could house approximately 1830 inmates.
