Jail History and Structure

In 1980, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Council Grove. The justice center houses the Morris County county sheriff, Council Grove police department offices, and the Morris County Jail. The Morris County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Morris County Jail. Originally, the Morris County Jail could house approximately 1909 inmates.
