Jail History and Structure

In 1978, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Burlington. The justice center houses the Coffey County county sheriff, Burlington police department offices, and the Coffey County Jail. The Coffey County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Coffey County Jail. Originally, the Coffey County Jail could house approximately 2431 inmates.
