Jail History and Structure

In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown South Paris. The justice center houses the Oxford County county sheriff, South Paris police department offices, and the Oxford County Jail. The Oxford County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Oxford County Jail. Originally, the Oxford County Jail could house approximately 1772 inmates.

Over the years, the Oxford County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Oxford County county.
