Jail History and Structure
In 1977, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Faribault. The justice center houses the Rice County county sheriff, Faribault police department offices, and the Rice County Jail. The Rice County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Rice County Jail. Originally, the Rice County Jail could house approximately 1585 inmates.
