Jail History and Structure
In 1988, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Ainsworth. The justice center houses the Brown County county sheriff, Ainsworth police department offices, and the Brown County Jail. The Brown County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Brown County Jail. Originally, the Brown County Jail could house approximately 1846 inmates.
Over the years, the Brown County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Brown County county.
